For the past several months I have been involved in a book club that I found through Meetup. It has been a lot of fun to get together with other people who love to read as much as I do. Over Christmas we decided to make our monthly meeting more of a celebration of the holidays so we met at a local tea shop, Barbara’s Victorian Tea House. I have lived in Rancho Cucamonga for too many years to mention and I had never even heard of this place. It is only a few miles away, located in this beautiful Victorian home. Victorian buildings are not a typical sight in this area. We are surrounded by cookie-cutter tract houses, so it was wonderful to see that something like that actually exists here.
We all had such a great time; sipping tea, eating strawberries and scones with clotted cream, and talking about our book, that we decided to meet there again the following month. Barbara, the owner, was a gracious hostess, and allowed us to stay as long as we wanted. After meeting and talking to her, she invited me to come in last week, before they opened, to take some photographs. It was such a pleasure to shoot these lovely table settings and food. If you are in the Cucamonga/Etiwanda area and are a fan of tea, definitely give Barbara’s place a try.
